How are the cargo shipment prices formed?

Cargo shipment prices are influenced by various factors. One of the main factors is the relation between the cargo and the available transport (the principle of supply and demand). The relation between the import and export goods is also important. The average market price is also influenced by such direct costs as the price of fuel, ferry prices, vignette prices, driver salary and other costs.

The shipment price for the specific cargo is also influenced by various factors connected with the specific shipment – delivery schedules, the type of vehicle used for the shipment and the specifics of the cargo. In order to receive a precise cargo shipment price offer, we require information about the route, as well as the cargo dimensions, weight and content. The cargo may also require temperature control (REF cargo) and may be a hazardous cargo. If it is necessary to register the cargo in the SENT system or if there are specific instructions for the cargo shipment, this must be notified prior to receiving the price offer.

Additional costs that make up the cargo shipment price may also include customs services, storing the goods in a warehouse, reloading, local delivery, etc. – you can receive more information from your transport manager.
